Reflection:
Words I got were window, moments in time, aligned, silhouette and nostalgia. We discussed that I shouldn't do go smaller or bigger, that they don't read as well. Everyone liked the photos and mixing the two, how they line up. We said no childhood photos or figures as the work gives off childhood and nostalgic energy to begin with. I thought about innocence being taken away and found again, and who I am now is not the little girl that was in those pictures; I wanted to almost show the grief and reconciliation of that. We discussed how I went to the same place for a long time pretty much everyday for sunset. I would always have to see the sunset every night, that's how I healed myself for about two years. One person brought up how I probably have many photos from the same place. After class when I went to look, I had over 2,500 photos at that one location, 99% of them being of the sky and landscape. Laura recommended I think of specific memories or metaphors, and how I align colors with feelings.
