Reflection:
This week was focused on finishing touches, making more prints, putting them onto card-stock for integrity and simplicity of transport. I also got new frames for the oil pastels, with them being the same size of the print. I dove deeper into the meaning and background on why? We had a lovely visiting artist and she asked me important questions I hadn't considered. For example, she made me realize that the saturation difference is almost a critique or is almost comical in reference to over editing that takes place on social media and everyday images. People always want it to look better and brighter, for me these sections and portions of prints hold emotion. The good, bad, ugly and everything in between. All the thoughts that were being processed in that moment, how it grounds and heals the human body. How something so beautiful can be seen and given such trust and vulnerability by humans, especially me. We also discussed how the pastels don't work in the frame and they should be open in a grid formation, maybe about six of them. I want to also appreciate the texture on them.
